Majors, Minors, & Certificates

Leadership

This series of courses examines the critical role of leadership in achieving an organization's strategic objectives in a global environment. This concentration prepares students to start a business, work in the public or private sectors, join a not-for-profit or pursue graduate education.

Note: A concentration can be used in different ways depending on a student’s major. Students in the business major pair two concentrations from different disciplines. The concentrations are also available to students in other majors.

No matter your major- finance, accounting, marketing, economics, history, psychology, computer science, biology, etc. – if you perform well in your job, you will soon be promoted to a leadership role. Being a good leader requires a different set of knowledge and skills than you’ve learned in your other classes. Courses in this concentration will provide in-depth knowledge on leadership theories and insight into effective, ethical leadership practices. Students will examine and develop their own leadership style and sharpen skills that apply to an ever-changing world, including thinking like a leader, leading and energizing teams, communicating with confidence, and making informed decisions. This concentration is excellent preparation for students who want to start a business, work in the public or private sectors, join a not-for-profit or pursue graduate education.
