Are you interested in a career working with children and adolescents outside of a traditional classroom setting? A program within Siena’s nationally recognized education department, this minor examines education’s role, issues and opportunities within a democracy. Coursework and research lead to a deep understanding of an education-related concentration of your choice.

This minor will help prepare you for careers in corporate training and staff development, educational outreach in museums, national parks and environmental centers, lobbying and advocacy for educational organizations like school boards and teachers unions, working with children and adolescents outside traditional classroom settings. It is also an excellent foundation if you want to pursue graduate-level degrees and certification elementary education, special education, school guidance counseling, school psychology, school social work and school district business leadership.
