From movies to television to YouTube, you'll learn to analyze modes of visual representation and gain an awareness of the history and theory of the filmic arts. You'll also develop invaluable writing, critical thinking, visual rhetoric, analytical skills, and research skills that transfer to a variety of professional settings. A film studies background is useful in a variety of careers including marketing, television and broadcasting, educational environments that utilize film technology, political campaigning, editorial jobs, and the entertainment industry (writer, director, producer).
