Digital forensics is a fast-growing, billion-dollar market with high long-term projected demand for trained professionals. With identity theft, insider trading, information security breaches, cyber-attacks, financial fraud, and terrorism, digital forensic analysts are tasked at understanding how to investigate incidents and track activities in the electronic domain.

We’ve designed our program to provide you with the skills necessary to use investigative procedures while applying accounting methods and financial techniques necessary to uncover, solve and document financial crimes.

The Fraud and Digital Forensics Advanced Certificate program is open to anyone with a bachelor's degree in accounting or a CPA license. Students who successfully complete all four courses in this certificate program receive an advanced Fraud and Digital Forensics Certificate from Siena's AACSB accredited School of Business.

WHy earn a fraud and digital forensics certificate?

Today’s organizations need professionals who can identify red flags, investigate misconduct, and respond to increasingly complex financial and digital threats. Employers value candidates who can analyze data, evaluate internal controls, and document findings with accuracy and confidence.

An advanced certificate offers a focused path to building these in-demand skills without the time commitment of a full degree program. It is an excellent option for individuals seeking career advancement, preparing for investigative roles, or adding fraud and forensic expertise to an accounting, finance, or business background. Earning the certificate can help students remain competitive in their current role while opening doors to positions with greater responsibility or new career paths.

why siena for fraud and digital forensics?

At Siena, students study fraud and digital forensics through the lens of an AACSB-accredited School of Business. Fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide earn AACSB accreditation, a distinction that reflects rigorous academic standards, continuous improvement, and a strong commitment to student learning and career preparation.

That business-focused foundation is especially valuable in a field where investigations often involve accounting systems, internal controls, ethics, and organizational risk. Students learn to approach fraud and forensic challenges with both technical skill and sound business judgment.

Siena’s smaller class environment allows students to work closely with faculty and engage directly with course material, software, and case-based assignments. The focused four-course format also helps students build specialized expertise in a manageable timeframe while balancing professional and personal commitments.
