In order to renew your federal, state and/or Siena need-based financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year by May 1.
Maintaining your federal and state aid depends upon satisfactory academic progress.
Recipients of any federal aid (e.g., Pell, SEOG, CWS, Perkins, Stafford, Plus) must complying with the standards for good academic standing (GPA) and complete their educational objective within a period of six years (adjusted for differences in enrollment status; e.g., half-time). When determining whether or not a student is complying with the standards for good academic standing and is on pace to graduate within the appropriate time frame, the Office of Financial Aid will apply the following formula:
|Cumulative Index (GPA)||1.3||1.5||1.6||1.7||1.8||1.9||1.95||2.0||2.0||2.0||2.0||2.0|
|Cumulative Credits Earned||15||30||45||70||95||120|
Recipients of New York State assistance must be in good academic standing and have declared an academic major by the beginning of their Junior year.
Students must meet both "satisfactory academic progress" (SAP) and "pursuit of program" requirements as defined by New York State. Students that do not meet either of the requirements will be contacted by the Financial Aid Office and will be offered the opportunity to submit a written appeal.
