THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES ARE REQUIRED FOR TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS:

 

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 

For every test the student must complete a request form for alternative testing arrangements and submit it to the office in advance of the exam. This form requires the faculty member’s approval.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The faculty member will deliver a copy of the exam to the Office of Accessibility or email it prior to the scheduled exam time. It is also imperative that the faculty member indicate: the time allotment for the exam, how the exam is to be returned as well as any special arrangements (calculator, open book, and so forth).

TESTING POLICY

To the extent possible the Office of Accessibility will provide testing accommodations on the same day and time as the regular class or final examination schedule.

Testing Accommodation Policy

EXTENDED TIME

Many students with disabilities are eligible for extended time for tests, quizzes and exams. Extended time is delivered through time and one half or double time. In order to receive this accommodation, the student should request it prior to the scheduled exam.

ALTERNATE TESTING LOCATION

Students who are eligible for alternate location testing may request to have their tests, quizzes and exams taken in the Office of Accessibility Testing Room in Foy Hall Room 108. This accommodation should be requested prior to the scheduled exam time.

COMPUTERS/WORD PROCESSING PROGRAM

Students who are eligible to use a computer may use it during exams under supervision. Students who are eligible to use a computer to complete exams should request this accommodation in advance. 

TEST READER

Test reading is provided for students who are eligible to receive this as an accommodation. Assistive technology is utilized to read the exam aloud.
