Siena's BSW Program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) since 1985! Why is this important?

  • CSWE's Commission on Accreditation (COA) is responsible for developing accreditation standards that define competent preparation and ensuring that social work programs meet these standards
  • Graduate schools offer advanced standing programs to graduates of accredited BSW programs (as long as the student meets requirements set by the individual graduate school), allowing students to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work in less than 2 years.

The highest social work standards are upheld in our program, and how well we achieve positive results can be found in these Program Outcome Data files. Beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year, we have done away with fall semester reporting and now post cumulative data at the end of the year (spring semester). Beginning with academic year 2019-2020, the reporting tool includes two outcome measures per competency.
