Studying abroad and studying Spanish at Siena definitely led to my applying for and earning a Fulbright Scholarship. I wrote my master's dissertation on the coloniality of gender-based violence in the Mexico-United States borderlands, and my knowledge and experience with the Spanish language allowed me to utilize research and literature in both English and Spanish.
