Vote to make your voice heard! Just follow these simple steps:
- Check your registration status and precinct location at vote.org or vote411.org.
- Register at your home address or here on campus to get more involved in our community.
Make a Voting Plan
- Vote in person on Election Day:
Find your polling location, which may vary for different elections.
Remember, most elections take place on Tuesdays. So, make sure you have time to get your polling location.
If you are registered to vote on campus, the polling location is conveniently just across the street at the Colonie Town Hall!
- Vote early in person:
Most states allow early voting up to six weeks before Election Day. In New York, voters may cast ballots 10 days before Election Day.
Early voting is conducted at centralized locations. Make sure to identify your early voting location.
This is a great option for students registered at their home address, but don’t have the time on Tuesdays to drive to their Election Day polling location!
- Vote by mail:
College students are eligible to vote by absentee ballot when studying away from home in all states, but the process to secure them varies
Request an absentee ballot here or directly through your state’s election agency.
Cast your Ballot
- Learn about the candidates and issues.
- Make sure you know the deadlines to submit mail-in ballots and early voting hours.
- VOTE!
