Registering for classes is a big responsibility. You get to make sure that you take the classes you need as you progress on your academic journey. We’re here to help you figure this out!
CHECK FOR HOLDS
A hold on your account could prevent your ability to register for classes.
Check your Registration status
Students register for classes according to the number of completed earned credits that they have. Depending on the credits you’ve brought in from high school, you may have sophomore or junior registration status.
FR: 0-23 completed credits
SO: 24-53 completed credits
JR: 54-83 completed credits
SR: 84+ completed credits

What courses and requirements have you completed so far? What requirements do you still need to complete? What courses are required for your major?
look up classes to take on banner self-service
Pick some classes that you might be interested in taking next semester.
Check for prerequisite courses. Many courses build on each other, so it is important to make sure that you have fulfilled the requirements before planning to take a class.
Check for restricted courses. Some classes are restricted for certain populations (by major, by class year, etc.). For each class you’re interested in taking, check to make sure that there are no restrictions listed.
You can view prerequisites and restrictions on Banner Self Service by clicking the CRN code and catalog entry for more information about each course you’re looking at.
(Planning to study abroad? Try to save the following courses for your semester abroad: CDA (Creative Arts Requirement); CDS (Social Science Requirement); Franciscan Concern courses (CFD,CFH,CFJ,and CFN); major, minor and general elective)
Meet with your advisor
Your advisor is here to make sure that the courses you are planning to take in the spring will help you get closer to graduation. While you meet with your advisor, they will provide to you your PIN number to register.
