Stack Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This spring's Spark Tank competition was the largest in College history.

A Spark Tank record 25 teams presented their new venture concepts to a panel of judges on March 21. The biannual pitch competition, hosted by the Stack Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, awards cash prizes to the top three ideas in three tracks. The winning concepts earn $500, bragging rights, and momentum for their fledgling idea.

Track 1 – Sports/Fitness/Music

Winner: Fitknowledgy – A mobile phone application to help individuals better understand gym equipment and exercise routines for increased fitness results.
Presented by: Chris Erickson '24, Ethan Favia G'25, and Jeremy Martelle Jr. G'25

"It was a great feeling when we found out we won. Our group set high expectations of our fitness app and we were able to deliver a great presentation. We have some hopes of moving along with the development of the app. Some of the feedback from the judges persuaded me to move in that direction."

Jeremy Martelle Jr. G'25

"It felt really good to win! I am a UX designer, so I had a feeling pretty early on that I could bring something to this competition that few could. So I leaned into it as hard as I could. We had a fully fleshed out app prototype. I had shirts printed and stickers made. I wanted to really develop the brand. We believe in this product and know there is an opportunity in the fitness market for FitKnowledgy. It's awesome that Siena does competitions like this and allows us to get valuable input and feedback from industry veterans."

Track 2 – Technology

Winner: Pairus – A digital measuring tool that eliminates or greatly reduces the time and effort for the individual in finding the correct clothing sizes across brands and styles.
Presented by: Madison Savage G,'25 and Jeremiah Tyrrell G,'25

"We were thrilled and humbled to win first place in the technology track. We knew there were some great ideas and polished competition, even from our own class, but we feel passionate about the viability and problems solved by Pairus. Initially Pairus came as a requirement for our Innovation and Entrepreneurship MBA class, but we've fallen in love with it and would love to see the idea continue to flourish to become a reality."
