Siena has received a $40,000 grant from The Boeing Company to help develop women as future leaders and innovators.

The Boeing Women in Leadership Initiative at Siena College will support:

  • The Boeing Women in Business Scholarship Fund, which will award $5,000 annually for four years to a female student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Siena’s School of Business.
  • The Boeing Women in Leadership Lecture Series, so that Siena can host one to two high profile women leaders in business, STEM, government or other fields for a campus presentation.
  • The Boeing Women in Entrepreneurship Award in the amount of $1,000, to be presented to a woman or all-female team who enter the College’s Spark Tank competition. (This award has been funded for five years.)

The College plans to introduce the scholarship, lecture series and entrepreneurship award during the 2023-24 academic year.

Cherisse Young ’96, director of foundation and corporate grants at Siena, said The Boeing Women in Leadership Initiative provides a multifaceted approach through scholarship, lecture series and entrepreneurship programs that will empower female students early on in their professional lives to become leaders in their chosen careers.

“Leadership is a central core value at Siena College and establishing positive role models for young female students is one of the keys to educating the next generation of women leaders,” said Young.
