Antonio de Nebrija authored the first dictionary of the Spanish language in 1495. A poet as well, he passionately advocated for the study of language and literature. Today, his name is on a university that offers an education in language and literature in both Spanish and English. Michelle Marchica '23 is studying communications this fall from Nebrija University in Madrid, Spain.

Michelle is currently taking courses that will satisfy some of her major requirements. She's also spending time exploring Madrid, which she calls, "a unique city with so much to offer that I have truly come to love." Michelle is also exploring beyond Madrid.

"My all time favorite thing has been being able to travel to different countries in Europe. I love getting to immerse myself in different cultures. I’ve really been able to learn a lot about myself from these experiences."
