Siena College has appointed Dr. Raj Devasagayam, Ph.D. as the Director of the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity. Devasagayam will lead faculty and students in this signature program, which supports research and scholarship opportunities for students across all disciplines.

The 16th Annual Celebrating Excellence in Education event saw Siena’s own Adam Casler, Director of Community Living, serve as the keynote speaker. The ceremony recognizes graduating high school seniors who have earned the privilege of being named valedictorians, salutatorians, or are receiving various other high honors from their institutions.

Whenever our alumni come to town to talk about their roads to success, Siena students are all ears—eager to hear how they made it to the top. One of our recent special visits was no exception, especially because this specific alum happens to be an upstate NY native and is currently a leader at a major company; one that she actually started interning for during her Siena days! Meet Kate Gutmann '90.

You showed it off in the obligatory pre-prom pics, twirled it around to an Ed Sheeran song or two and had a blast wearing it. But now that prom has come and gone, why not give your dress a new home? 

Gregory Morrison ‘15 and Samuel Necrason ’16 along with Aaron Pacitti, Ph.D , assistant professor of economics, authored an article titled, “Why Aren’t We Living to 120” that was recently published on the Huffington Post website.

Last fall seven students from Brazil came to Loudonville as part of the highly selective Brazil Scientific Mobility Program. The program offers students with an interest in science an all expenses paid opportunity to study abroad for a year before returning home to finish their degree.

As soon as high school lets out, you'll have so much more free time to do whatever you want—and you should relax! But if college is in your future, it's smart to use at least part of that time making money that you could use on books, housing, fall clothes and so on. Plus, being productive and working towards a goal can never hurt your resume. 

Every year just before graduation, Siena students come together for the one and only Siena Fest. It's an annual weekend of events that includes a big concert with big acts, and this year, we welcomed Hoodie Allen and Sammy Adams to campus. Needless to say, everyone had an awesome time.
