In harmony with the mission of Siena College and the School of Liberal Arts, the department of Modern Languages and Classics pursues three main goals:
- to prepare students for professional engagement in fields requiring language competency and cultural literacy;
- to help students understand the essential unity and inter-relatedness of all people and recognize their responsibility to create a world of mutual respect, understanding and acceptance;
- to enable students to critically reflect on diverse cultural identities, practices, and perspectives.
