Welcome to the Liberal Arts at Siena!

Hello visitors and friends,

I am pleased to welcome you to the School of Liberal Arts at Siena College. As a member of the School of Liberal Arts community you may explore, discover your passions and choose among more than 40 majors, minors, and certificate programs in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Fine Arts. We will sharpen your intellectual curiosity and help you create multiple opportunities and career paths. We offer you the ways and means to provide yourself with numerous choices, not just at the launching point of your Siena College graduation, but during every stage of your life.

The twenty-first century labor market is exciting and also changeable. We do not always know what opportunities and challenges lay before us, and so we must be prepared to adjust and to make new choices with knowledge, skills, and confidence. Siena College has the highest job placement rate in New York State, and we are ninth in the nation. State and nation-wide employers need globally conscious, flexible, adaptable, and intellectually curious Liberal Arts graduates. Our School of Liberal Arts graduates are clear communicators, strong analytical thinkers, and consummate researchers who know how to formulate good questions and then go out and find the answers.

Liberal Arts graduates achieve not only career satisfaction, but also life satisfaction. A strong foundation in the Liberal Arts supports intellectual growth over the course of a lifetime and enhances travel, music, theatre, reading, films, sports, and hobbies as well as enriches your relationships with family and friends. In other words, studying the Liberal Arts improves your overall quality of life, now and in the future.

I graduated from Siena College in 1993 with a Humanities degree and multiple employment and graduate school opportunities. The available career paths before me stretched towards law, sales, management, teaching, and public history. The broad knowledge and fundamental skills I gained from the School of Liberal Arts provided me with the ability to choose what my life would look like, through every opportunity and challenge, rather than merely letting life happen to me. The School of Liberal Arts transformed me into a flexible, adaptable, and confident life-long learner and it will do the same for you.

We are ready to help you create the life you want.
