Welcome to the Liberal Arts at Siena!
The School of Liberal Arts is the largest of the three Schools at Siena College, with 21 majors and 38 minors and certificates in the Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences. With so much on offer, your Siena experience is thoroughly customizable so that you can explore, find your passions, and choose the majors, minors and interdisciplinary programs that will prepare you for lifelong learning.
Why is lifelong learning important? With the volatility of the labor market and its changing demands, we never really know where our career paths will take us. Long-term success means being flexible, adaptable, and intellectually curious. Employers need globally conscious graduates who are clear communicators, strong analytical thinkers, and consummate researchers who know how to formulate good questions and then go out and find the answers. These are all skills that studying the Liberal Arts develops. But there’s more to life than work. A strong foundation in the Liberal Arts develops patterns of thinking and doing that support intellectual growth over the course of a lifetime, whether that comes in the form of travel, supporting your local fine arts community, reading good books, having meaningful discussions with friends, or picking up a new hobby that brings fulfillment outside of working hours. In other words, studying the Liberal Arts enhances your overall quality of life, now and in the future.
We invite you to explore all that we have to offer at Siena’s School of Liberal Arts – we would love for you to be a part of it!
