Our program provides the coursework and field experience you need to become a certified teacher in New York State (Birth-Grade 2 and Grades 1-6). Here’s what sets Siena apart:

Master’s in Early Childhood and Childhood Education (M.S.Ed.)

Whether you’re changing careers, a teaching assistant ready to step up, or a recent graduate aiming for certification, our master’s program offers flexibility without sacrificing connection:

100% Online Courses (starting Fall 2025): Study from anywhere and progress at your own pace—taking one to four courses per semester. In-Person Fieldwork: Gain practical skills and meet certification requirements through hands-on fieldwork and student teaching. On-Campus Opportunities: Participate in optional networking sessions, professional development events, and even take advantage of campus amenities like the gym and Career Services.

$30,000 Stipend Opportunity: Siena works with eight Capital Region school districts and the New York State Department of Labor on a program where eligible grad students complete a full-year teaching residency in a designated school district and earn a $30,000 stipend. Once admitted to Siena's program, students can interview with the districts for one of these competitive spots.
