Services and Programs

At Siena, we provide international students with a welcoming and supportive environment. The friendly staff of the Center for International Programs will work one-on-one with you to ensure a successful and rewarding college experience. A few examples of our services include:

  • A dedicated international student advisor (Susan Ambrose, Assistant Director of International Programs)
  • First-year and Transfer orientation developed specifically for international students
  • Free airport, bus and train station pick up for new incoming students
  • Free shuttle service each weekend to multiple shopping centers
  • Assistance setting up bank and cell phone accounts
  • Guidance finding campus work positions
  • Help with work authorization and social security applications
  • Immigration advising
  • Academic Tutoring
  • English-language support services
  • Writing Center

International Student Association

The International Student Association is a student-run group composed of both international and U.S. students. Events are designed to bring students from all over the world together for fun and friendship, and to fully experience American culture in the process. Just a few examples of past events include:

  • A welcome barbeque upon arrival
  • A tour of Albany
  • Day-trip to Boston
  • Siena Basketball Night
  • International movie night
  • International Food Festival
  • Thanksgiving dinner
  • Cultural Programming (i.e. Carnival Night)
  • International student graduation party

A small number of scholarships or grants may be available for academically qualified students.
