1. Family is number one for me and food always brings us together. Every Sunday, my entire family (typically 15-20 people) gets together for dinner. While I love all kinds of food, especially my mom’s homemade meatballs with raisins, I am always looking forward to what is for dessert. Many people around campus know my love for sweets, especially my cookie suppliers, Ashley Marsh and Kelly O’Connor in AVI. Both hook me up with the best treats after any event they cater.
  2. Seeing how much I love sugar and sweets, that brings me to my other passion — running. I got into running during COVID when gyms closed and I started running more and more. Eventually, I started to do half marathons — I have done 13 and one full marathon. I’m currently training for my second at the end of October in Washington, D.C.
  3. Some people ask how I'm able to run for such a long time, and I have one of my favorite artists of all time, Machine Gun Kelly, to thank for that. While it may seem like it would get old, I listen to MGK on every run. Music is a huge part of my life even though I am musically inept and cannot sing or play an instrument. This summer I went to eight concerts and have already bought tickets for concerts next year.
  4. Even though I’m not a talented musician, I can certainly get down on the dance floor at weddings. As of 2020, I am a licensed wedding officiant. I have officiated two weddings and have a third coming up this November. (I’ve been told by several friars that this is a promising skill!)
  5. Speaking of the friars, I had the opportunity to travel to Italy with Fr. Mark and Fr. Larry my senior year and I have been passionate about traveling ever since. After that trip to Italy, I traveled to Scotland, Germany, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest.
  6. Before going to Italy, I really never traveled at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite. When I was a student here at Siena, I was a commuter and did not like to venture away from home for too long. I would go to class, sit in my car in between classes, and then head straight home after classes. As soon as I committed to getting involved on campus, my entire experience changed. I started staying at Siena all day and I am still here to this day! I love that my role is all about helping Saints have a great experience — shout out to my Saint Camp Friends and Experience Team! (Note to commuters: get involved!)
  7. I have always liked to keep myself busy and productive, so I got my first job working at a golf course at 15 and worked there for 10 years, all the way up to this golf season. I have met some of the nicest people with so many stories. I can tell you that after 10 years of working at a golf course, my golf game has not gotten any better, but in fact worse, which is why I am always looking forward to the ski season (Maybe you are seeing a theme here, I enjoy solo sports: golf, running and skiing.)
  8. If anyone tells you Legos are for children, they are WRONG. I have always loved building legos and recently started back up. I’m a frequent visitor to the Lego store in Crossgates. My boyfriend and I now collect them and do them together while drinking a nice cold beverage.
  9. While I am on the topic of acting like a child, I am a Christmas elf at heart (and I am not not saying this because of my height). I love Christmas so much that last year I had four Christmas trees in my house. I also wrote my college essay for my application to Siena about Buddy the Elf.
  10. Lastly, I recently joined the volunteer fire department by my house. I am a third generation firefighter and am following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father who both held officer positions in the same fire department.
