1. I love animals! Growing up, my family had a small farm where we raised eight pigs, 15 dogs, and grew corn. However, I recently killed a basil plant, so it's safe to say that I've lost my green thumb.
  2. I won the best dressed award in both 7th and 8th grade! It wasn't for my suits back then, but rather my extensive collection of sports jerseys and fitted caps.
  3. In my free time, I enjoy antiquing and thrift shopping. I love exploring shops, discovering unique items, and browsing through vintage furniture and clothing.
  4. I am fortunate to have an older brother who also works in higher education. Having a sibling who understands the intricacies and challenges of my work has truly enhanced my own understanding and appreciation for the field.
  5. When I was a kid, I had dreams of becoming an artist. I loved painting, drawing, and visiting art museums. During one summer, I had the opportunity to participate in a youth art program at Yale University.
  6. I had the opportunity to take part in a civil rights immersion trip to Georgia and Alabama. I also led a group of students on a week-long service trip to Louisiana, where we volunteered at the oldest and largest animal shelter in the state. I value the importance of volunteerism, as it allows students to develop a well-rounded education that goes beyond the classroom.
  7. I enjoy cooking and hosting friends and family in my home. If I wasn't working in education, I would probably own a restaurant.
  8. My father is a retired carpenter. He built the home where he and my mother currently reside. When I was younger, he would occasionally take me along to assist him on jobs. I'm grateful for those experiences, as they taught me some valuable handy skills.
  9. I have a strong passion for music. I enjoy listening to a variety of different genres, from classical to hip hop. I particularly enjoy live performances. The most recent concert I attended was Ne-Yo at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
  10. One quote that has always resonated with me is by the great Nelson Mandela: "I never lose. I either win or learn." This powerful statement serves as a constant reminder that every experience, whether it brings success or not, offers valuable lessons and growth opportunities.
