1. I am the oldest of six in my family. I have three brothers and two sisters. We have a little bit of everything in this family by occupation… college business professor, Catholic priest, attorney, nurse, actor and special education teacher. Conversations over the holidays when we are together are always interesting!
  2. My Dad worked for a large company during a period of time in the US when those companies would rotate managers every three years or so to new positions around the country. Growing up, I have lived in NYC, Chicago, St. Louis, Danbury, CT and Rochester, NY.  By the time I finished high school I had attended eight schools around the U.S.
  3. I enjoyed playing baseball and football everywhere we moved. I was a running back and defensive back.
  4. I went to the University of Missouri – Columbia for my undergraduate and studied Economics. My MBA and Ph.D. are from RPI.
  5. During my work career, I had the pleasure of living outside of the U.S. in Mexico and Brazil for four years. While out of the country in those locations, I was part of the advanced manufacturing group with American National Can Company (now Ball Corporation) and participated in three aluminum can manufacturing plant startups. From this experience I speak decent Spanish and some Portuguese. I will often fall into a mix of Espanol and Portuguese or “Portanol.”
  6. The time in Latin America truly changed my life… I met my future wife there. We have been married for 29 years now and have two great kids. Well, the “kids” are now adults in their 20s, but still great!
  7. I used to coach Pop Warner football when my son was young, and I enjoyed that very much.
  8. My favorite hobbies are snow skiing, reading good literature and watching spy thriller movies.
  9. I am not a very good cook, but I do manage to make excellent stuffed shells in large industrial quantities during holidays like Easter and Thanksgiving!
  10. My Dad lives on Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes on a plot of land that used to be the family farm. The property has been in the family now for almost 200 years. It is beautiful there, and I get out to visit whenever possible!
