The New York State Association allows an opportunity for Siena Social Work Students to expand and exchange knowledge related to social work education and related issues in the state and region.
Students have many opportunities to participate in undergraduate research alongside professors and organizations through independent studies, research courses and so much more!
Quality research in social work is very important to the profession; as it allows social work professionals an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the practice and the programs they implement. Research assists social workers in developing new knowledge and aid in the creation of new policies and programs.

The New York State Association allows an opportunity for Siena Social Work Students to expand and exchange knowledge related to social work education and related issues in the state and region.
Independent Study courses allow students to work on topics of their choosing under the supervision of a faculty member. Independent Study courses provide students with in-depth learning opportunities that involve private consultation with the advisor and independent research. The courses are listed under each department and require a proposal approved by the faculty member, the Department Chair, and the Dean.
An opportunity for students to provide hands-on individualized interventions with patients with complex social and health care needs, by identifying super utilizers or individuals who are frequent hospital visits or admissions. Students will have opportunity to present their research at the academic showcase.
