Siena Students and Faculty of the Siena Social Work Club, went to Riverview Orchards and picked 43 bags of apples that were donated to local food pantry.
Volunteering is one of the most effective ways to gain meaningful, hands on experience in the Social Work Field. Service allows students to not only give back and service in the community but to gain knowledge and experience in different environments. Students have an opportunity to participate, service and expand their knowledge in a variety of diverse community settings.
Siena Social Work Students partner with the Mental Health Association in New York State (MHANYS) to attend lobby day at the New York State Capital to advocate for mental health services and suicide prevention across the state. Students have the opportunity to learn macro level social work practice in real time.
