"Studying Spanish at Siena has paved the way for me to become a fearless global citizen and dedicated public servant. I chose to study abroad in untraditional destinations such as Cuba and the Dominican Republic. With the guidance of my professors, mentors, and study abroad staff, I worked in Spain as an English Language and Cultural Assistant, I was a Fulbright ETA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia. My passion for foreign language acquisition and uplifting communities led me to pursue a career in Public Diplomacy. Today, I work for the U.S. Department of State as a diplomat with the capacity to impact and promote U.S. interests abroad. I attribute this accomplishment to the flexibility of Siena’s liberal arts curriculum and Franciscan values."
