If you are interested in anything “outdoorsy” we are willing to try just about anything. Outing Club is one of the largest clubs on campus with over 150 members full of great people and an even better time. So join outing club and have an amazing year!
Hiking: We attempt to do as many hikes as possible during the fall and spring of the school year. We hike everything from the easiest climb for beginners to the most difficult climbs for experts. We have hiked such mountains as:
Camping: We began an annual camping trip in 2010 and we are attempting to continue the tradition. Every year we spend time at Pyramid Lake.
Rock Climbing: New this year we have gone rock climbing! While we have yet to do outdoor rock climbing (unfortunately) we have began climbing indoors. Just down the street from Siena College we climb at Albany Indoor RockGym (AIR).
Skiing: Skiing has become one of the most popular parts of Outing Club. Every year we go on at least two overnight trips, which are offered at amazing discounts, along with the occasionally day trip. Some of the mountains we have skied in recent years include:
Rafting: Every spring we take a day rafting trip on the Indian River. The trip occurs in mid to late April when the rapids are beginning to become powerful. In years past we have rafted rapids as easy as Class 1 and as difficult as Class 5!
Future Trips: We have a lot of interest expressed in different activities and we are doing our best to accommodate everyone’s ideas. Currently we are working on Zip-lining, Horse-Back Riding, Bike Riding, and another overnight camping trip! Basically what we are trying to say is that if you are interested in anything tell us and we will do our best to make it happen!
