The Sal Business Lecture Series is named in honor of Rosario “Sal” Ilacqua ’50, a distinguished finance alumnus whose life was defined by the transformative power of opportunity and a deep commitment to his alma mater. The son of Italian immigrants and a Navy veteran who attended Siena on the GI Bill, Ilacqua rose from humble beginnings to become a globally respected oil analyst, a success he credited to the foundation laid at Siena. Established through a transformational gift from his estate, the series honors his belief that education should be accessible to all by bringing industry leaders and accomplished alumni to campus to share real-world insights with the next generation of Saints. His legacy ensures that students continue to benefit from the same spirit of mentorship and professional growth that shaped his own remarkable career.
