Dear Siena Community,
I am deeply sorry to inform you that we unexpectedly lost a highly respected and dear member of our faculty yesterday. Mark Rosenberry, Ph.D., a professor in our physics department for more than 20 years, suffered a medical emergency at home last night and passed away later in the hospital.
Mark dedicated his professional life to this community and to a generation of Saints. He joined the Siena community in 2003, and he always said his favorite courses to teach were classical mechanics and quantum mechanics because of the joy he found in presenting new and intriguing perspectives to his students. Our favorite professors are the ones who get genuinely excited when the lightbulb turns on for their students. Mark unquestionably lived for those moments.
We will host a prayer service in memory of Mark Rosenberry at the Grotto Friday afternoon during free period at 12:45. We are also working closely with Mark’s family to coordinate additional memorial plans and will share details as soon as they’re confirmed. I also want to remind you that support is available to any community member who needs it. Peace and all good,
Chuck
