Dear Siena Community,
I’m pleased to share an exciting step forward for the Siena Research Institute (SRI).
Siena University is entering into an innovative relationship with ReconMR, a leading national market research firm with a longstanding relationship with SRI. Together, we are creating a model that strengthens SRI’s impact, expands its capabilities, and elevates the reach and influence of its public policy research.
This relationship is a true win-win. It preserves the Siena Research Institute brand, keeps our talented team on our campus, maintains our commitment to employing and mentoring Siena students, and upholds the rigorous, proven research standards that define SRI’s credibility. At the same time, it allows Siena to reduce operating risk while generating meaningful, sustainable revenue that can be reinvested in our core mission. For ReconMR, the partnership expands their research capacity, strengthens their public policy portfolio, and aligns them with a nationally respected academic brand recognized as the Most Accurate Pollster in America, enhancing credibility, reach, and long-term growth.
Polling and research will continue under the Siena Research Institute name, with branding that includes a “powered by ReconMR” designation. By pairing SRI’s national credibility with ReconMR’s scale, technology, and methodological expertise, we are expanding our capacity for national multimodal research while protecting what has made SRI special for nearly five decades.
I would also like to recognize the exceptional work of Director Don Levy, whose vision, discipline, and steady leadership have built SRI into the respected, trusted institution it is today. Don brought the possibility of this opportunity to us this past summer, understanding it could make Siena stronger. The strengthened relationship will take effect January 1, and joint transition teams are already at work to ensure a smooth and thoughtful process in the weeks and months ahead.
I invite you to join us for an open house tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at the Siena Research Institute offices in Hines Hall, where you can hear directly from Don and the team about this new relationship and what it means for Siena, SRI, and our students.
Peace and all good,
Chuck
