The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) obtains, on an annual basis, information from hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide about student participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development. Siena College began participating in the survey in 2001. Siena College uses the survey to improve aspects of the undergraduate experience inside and outside the classroom. NSSE is administered to first-year and senior students in the spring semester.  NSSE provides benchmark information from all schools classified by the Carnegie Foundation as baccalaureate-liberal arts colleges and from all NSSE respondents. Siena also participates in a consortium of Catholic colleges and universities that share data for benchmark purposes. Analyses appear below.  You may also wish to visit the NSSE website or the About NSSE page to review a copy of the survey or obtain more information on NSSE and related instruments.
