LOUDONVILLE, NY – Thomas J. Baldwin Jr. ’81 has been confirmed as the new chairman of the Siena College Board of Trustees.

Baldwin was formally elected chair for a two-year term in March, and will oversee his first trustees’ meeting at Siena on June 10. He will preside at Siena’s Commencement ceremony on May 30.

“I am a proud Siena alumnus – as are many in my family – and I look forward to continuing my work on the College’s Board of Trustees as its new chairman,” said Baldwin. “We are currently laying the groundwork for a new five-year strategic plan to guide us with continued success into the future, as we provide Siena students with the Education for a Lifetime founded on our Franciscan principles.”

Christopher P. Gibson ’86, Ph.D., president of Siena, said, “I am pleased to welcome Tom Baldwin as our new board chair. He is a loyal and dedicated Siena Saint, and will be an excellent steward of our mission.”

Baldwin is a managing partner of BRS & Co., Inc., a New York-based private equity firm.

He has served on the boards of directors of a number of for-profit companies, and has served on several not-for-profit boards in the Capital Region.

He holds a B.B.A. from Siena and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He resides in Menands, N.Y. with his wife, Laurie Baldwin ’80. They were the lead donors for Siena’s Baldwin Nursing Program, which was founded in honor of their mothers, Marilyn Baldwin, RN, and Shirley Kowalczyk, RN.

The following Siena trustees continued in or were elected to officer positions:
