1. I grew up outside of Utica, NY in Whitesboro. I am a proud 315er and supporter of all things Utica Club, chicken riggies, the Boilermaker and Utica greens.
  2. My fiancé (Anthony “Anto” Pelliccia) and I are both members of Siena’s Class of 2017! We met here on campus and became fast friends as orientation leaders (SAINTS). Two years after graduating we started dating, and six years later we are engaged and planning a New Year’s Eve wedding. Unsurprisingly, I’d estimate the guest list is at least one-quarter Siena related. Anthony has been working at Siena since we graduated, spending six years working in Admissions and is now assistant athletic director for advising.
  3. I am a Siena legacy! My mom also graduated from Siena (she won’t let me put the year she graduated). I initially didn’t want to attend Siena because of this, but ended up falling in love with the campus and community anyway. Thank God, because I can’t imagine what my life would be like now if it weren’t for Siena!
  4. After I graduated from Siena with a Biology degree, I moved to Baltimore, MD for nursing school at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. I ended up spending seven years in Baltimore, working for five years as a Pediatric Nurse at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and getting my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Hopkins. I LOVED my time in Baltimore, it’s such a great city overflowing with history, grit and charm.
  5. I am now an OBGYN/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam. I love women’s health and feel like I spend my days chatting with friends. Being in a position to help educate, validate and empower women is the coolest and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
  6. With my DNP, I also got a Nursing Education Certificate. This spring, I returned home to Siena as an adjunct nursing professor! I have been teaching a Health Assessment lab on Thursday evenings to a wonderful, bright group of soon-to-be nurses. It has been so fun to be back on campus and the nursing department has been above and beyond welcoming, they’re fantastic!
  7. Summer is my favorite season because I get to spend time in the Adirondacks AND on Long Island beaches. My family has been going to the west side of the Adirondacks every summer for most of my life. We love having such a beautiful place in our backyard. We spend our vacation days doing puzzles, sitting by the lake, listening to music, eating good meals, and drinking bubbly wine. My fiancé is from Long Island which means his parents have the ocean in their backyard. From Montauk, to Smith Point, to Tobay, I look forward to watching Anthony (attempt to) fish from the shore, looking for dolphins and whales, swimming in the ocean, and driving to and from the beach in his sister’s Jeep.
  8. I’ve been to Dingle, Ireland three times with my family and anticipate more trips in the future. Dingle is STUNNING and it never gets old. My Mimi loves sheep and always stops to take a picture, regardless of how many she already has on her camera roll. On our most recent trip, we did have a near death experience while hiking as a lightning storm came on, but it’s still one of our favorite places!
  9. My favorite hobby is reading – if I could, I would spend all day, every day doing nothing but reading. According to my Goodreads account, I have read over 700 books. My love for reading is shared with so many of my friends which makes it even more fun. My friends from Baltimore and I have even started a tradition of renting a house for a weekend to do nothing but sit around and read books in the same room – we call it Book Camp!
  10. My fiancé and I bought a house in Guilderland this past summer and it is my happy place. After doing long distance for six years, having a home that is ours together is the best feeling. The house is right on the edge of the Pine Bush Preserve, and we have a huge fenced in yard, a big bright kitchen, and lots of room for family and friends - it is heaven. So much so, we got engaged right in our living room in November and it was the best day of my life (so far!).
