1. My first name is actually Raymond. My father’s name was also Raymond and in order to know who my mother was talking to, my parents called me by my middle name, Scott.

2. My family had a dairy farm in Schoharie when I was younger. I have memories of early mornings drinking fresh milk out of milk tanks, riding tractors, and bailing hay. I guess that’s what made me an early riser.

3. I worked for radio station WSCM AM 1190 in my hometown of Cobleskill, NY when I was 15. I delivered the Daily Gazette and I used to stop and chat with the morning personalities at the station which led to the job offer. I worked weekends most of the time, and I read the weather, news, played records, and ran the control board for Mets, NASCAR, College Football, etc. I thought about a career in radio or broadcast engineering but decided on computer science instead.

4. I've been a season ticket holder for the Albany Firebirds, the Albany River Rats, and Siena Basketball. I’ve attended every championship game each team has played.

5. I’ve been going to Siena basketball games since 1989, and I started bringing my daughter, Cate, when she was three. We are diehard fans and went to the MAAC Tournament in Atlantic City, NJ in March (before it was cancelled). I’ve watched Siena win the MAAC tournament all six times including this past season when they were crowned the champions after the shortened tournament.

6. I started working at Siena for the first time in 1993 and again in 2004. 2020 marks 20 total years at Siena. When I started, there were only two people who supported the computers and network on campus. Now there are eight.

7. My wife, Mary, and I are both Siena graduates. We met while we were both working for the college full-time and taking classes part-time to finish our degrees. We ended up being in the same group for a project in our theatre class. I was the costume designer (surprisingly) and she was the director. Now, our daughter Cate will be graduating from Siena this May.

8. I’m a music nerd and have attended over 100 concerts in almost every genre. Some of my favorites have been Jane’s Addiction, Zac Brown Band, Metallica, and Billy Joel. I even saw Billy Joel three nights in a row starting New Year’s Eve in 1993.

9. My family and I are huge sports fans and rarely watch anything else. I’ve been a long suffering New York Mets and New York Rangers fan my entire life. Depending on the year, I do a little better with my football team, the New York Giants.

10. My favorite family vacation spot is Cape Cod, Mass. We’ve been vacationing there since 1995, and I enjoy eating ice cream at Sundae School, playing miniature golf at Pirate’s Cove, relaxing on the beach, and kayaking (when I don’t fall in).
