1) I am a Rochester girl, born and raised in the City of Rochester. Of course, this means that I think Wegmans is the best grocery store out there!

2) I am an advocate of study abroad. In college I studied in Spain and Chile. I majored in international studies because it was the program that would let me spend the most amount of time abroad.

3) During my time in Chile I took the summer break (December-February) to backpack through Chile, Argentina and Brazil. I was supposed to go with a friend but she backed out so I went alone and it was the most liberating experience I have ever had.

4) I discovered my love of whitewater in Chile when I learned to kayak and raft. My first rafting experience was a five-day tour on the Bio Bio river. My whole boat was from Israel so we learned the commands in Hebrew... Kadima!

5) I once kayaked over an 18-foot waterfall. It was so much fun that I climbed back up and did it two more times!

6) I really love to read but I am an indecisive reader. Kindle Unlimited is a blessing. I am always taking recommendations for good Sci-fi reads!

7) I am a knitter. A year or so ago I realized that I wasn't knitting enough so I worked with a colleague in Social Work to develop a one-credit knitting course at Siena. I love sharing this passion with Siena students and providing an outlet for people to destress.

8) My husband and I bought an old abandoned farmhouse in Glenmont. We have been renovating it little by little so I constantly live in a construction zone.

9) I have a rather large old chicken coop that I have been renovating to become my outdoor office and yoga studio. I keep a butterfly garden around it. It is my relaxation area! (below)

10) I love to smoke meat. One of my favorite things to do is sit around on a Sunday and make smoked brisket, salmon, turkey, chicken... whatever fits!
