1. I have a summertime birthday and to me a proper birthday party must include a Carvel ice-cream cake!

2. I have never had a cup of coffee in my entire life. Growing up my mom drank coffee all the time but I could never get pass the smell and therefore never started drinking it. I am, however, a fan of drinking black tea.

3. I have four sisters! I am the second oldest child with a twenty-year age difference between the oldest and youngest.

4. Growing up my parents like to travel and took me and my sisters to many different places. On more than one occasion my parents took us driving across the country in an RV. This is how I first got to see the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and my favorite, the giant Redwoods in California. Also, my first time on a plane was for a trip to Bermuda when I was in elementary school.

5. One of the most fun volunteering experiences I’ve ever had was working at a haunted mansion while in high school. Although I got to play a couple of different roles, the best was the one where I got to be a hooded figure that followed people through an outdoor maze.

6. One summer in high school my father and I participated in a Hurricane Island Outward Bound course. This course involved us and 10 other people living on a 30 foot Pulling Boat while sailing off the coast of Maine. Every morning when we woke up, we had to jump into the ocean. Although it was July, the coastal waters of Maine were not very warm and ever since this experience, I’ve never liked cold water.

7. During my freshman year of college, on a whim, me and two of my friends decided to go sky-diving in Vermont. We each performed a solo static-line jump at a jump altitude of 3,500 feet and I got the best marks from our instructor!

8. While living in Baltimore for graduate school I was selected to be an extra in the movie Ladder 49. I filmed three scenes; the funeral scene, a transitional scene (which was not included in the movie), and the restaurant scene. You can actually see me in the restaurant seated behind Linda (Jacinda Barrett) “drinking a beer”. As luck would have it, I was also invited to a post-production cast and crew party afterwards where I got to meet Billy Burke and Joaquin Phoenix.

9. My husband Joe and I have been together for 15 years and married for 8. He’s a registered nurse at Albany Medical Center and is working towards obtaining his Nurse Practitioner degree and licensure. We have a dog, Lucy, who I have had since she was 6 months old when my father found her living under a bulldozer at a construction site near his home in Arkansas. Also, I’ve been known to throw her birthday parties.

10. In my spare time I like to go indoor rock climbing and have been trying to teach myself how to juggle.
