1. My wife (Guilderland) and I (Horseheads) were both born and raised in Upstate New York. We left for school and work in 2008 and have called Ontario (Canada), Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and Tennessee home before returning to New York and Siena College in 2022.
  2. My undergraduate degree is Physical Education. For most of my childhood I thought I wanted to be a P.E. teacher. That is, until I attempted student teaching and realized I couldn't stand it. So I made a shift late in my college career with the help of a few excellent mentors at SUNY Brockport.
  3. I played competitive lacrosse and hockey throughout my childhood and school years. In the early 2000s my junior hockey team won a NY State championship. In lacrosse, I was a goalie and played DIII at Brockport. In my most memorable game, I got pulled twice against Cortland when we lost by more than 20 goals.
  4. I completed my PhD at LSU in 2013 and continue to be a big Tigers fan! In 2012 during their best season while I was there I attended every home game, five away games, the SEC Championship in Atlanta, and the National Championship in New Orleans. I sat in the first row of the Louisiana Superdome to unfortunately watch my Tigers lose the National Championship to that crimson school we call our rival. #GeauxTigers
  5. Over the past decade I have led study abroad classes to some amazing places including Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Costa Rica. During every trip we have attended at least one soccer (football) match and I have a collection of 18 game scarves on my office wall as momentos.
  6. I am a moderately obsessed golfer and try to play as frequently as possible in the summer months. In 2023 I had my first hole in one on the par 3 4th hole at Wolferts Roost from 157 yards. This past summer I got to play a few rounds with my parents in Ireland!
  7. My family, including my son James and daughter Cece, are sport and activity enthusiasts. You can catch us hiking the Adirondacks, running, skiing, golfing, swimming, rock climbing, or at a soccer practice most of the year.
  8. In addition to playing, watching sports is a big part of my life. My professional sports teams are the New York Rangers, New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. I still remember the exact place and position I was sitting in my parents living room when the Rangers clinched the 1994 Stanley Cup. James and I take the train down to MSG several times a year to cheer on the blueshirts.
  9. My wife Erica is a Siena alum and former cheerleader. She got to travel with the team to the NCAA tournament in 2008 and 2009 and witnessed Siena's upset of Ohio State in double overtime in Dayton. #OnionsDoubleOrder
  10. My favorite band is Mumford and Sons. On their last US tour, Erica I saw them live in Nashville and then a few days later hopped a plane to Dallas to see them again. In addition to Mumford, you can regularly find me listening to Lumineers, Caamp, Avett Brothers, Noah Kahan, and of course, Taylor Swift.
