How Do I Find a Roommate?
At Siena, you have several ways to connect with a potential roommate. Each class year has its own Instagram page where you can submit a short introduction about yourself. From there, you can connect with other incoming students, find people with similar interests, and start getting to know potential roommates.
You can also meet future classmates in person at Siena events like Open Houses and Accepted Students Days. These events are a great opportunity to get to know other incoming students and see who you might click with before move-in day.

Can I Go Random For My Roommate?
Yes, students can choose to go random at Siena! Siena's roommate matching system matches those who wish to go random based on factors like cleanliness, bedtimes, and guests in the room. If you choose to go random, you'll complete the roommate matching form when it is sent to you before your first year.
Can I Choose my Roommate?
Yes! Siena students can request a specific roommate through the housing process. Whether you met someone through social media, at an Accepted Students event, or already know someone coming in, you can make your roommate request through the housing portal during the onboarding process.
What is living with a roommate like?
Living with a roommate is definitely an adjustment, but it’s also a great part of the college experience. You’ll learn how to share a space, navigate different schedules and habits, and communicate about things like quiet time, guests, and keeping your room organized. Your roommate might become a close friend, or you may simply become roommates who get along, and either is completely okay. Either way, it’s a chance to meet someone new, learn more about yourself, and make memories along the way.
What if I don’t like my roommate?
Not every roommate relationship will turn into a lifelong friendship, and that’s okay! If you and your roommate don’t immediately click, communication and setting clear expectations can help you build a comfortable living environment. Your roommate doesn’t have to be your best friend for you to have a great college experience!

Before move-in, it's helpful to talk about expectations for things like sleep schedules, cleanliness, guests, studying, sharing belongings and quiet time. You don't have to agree on everything, but discussing these things early can make it easier to share a space once you arrive.
