Conservative journalist and media personality Megyn Kelly grew up in Delmar and graduated from Albany Law School. So when Kelly met her new intern over Zoom and found out she went to Siena, they already had common ground.

"She said, 'Oh, you go to Siena? I know that area very well, it's super nice,'" said Tori Mangelli '23, who's working on the Megyn Kelly Show this spring as the social media intern.

The show airs live weekdays from noon to 2:00 p.m. on SiriusXM and YouTube. During the show, key players are in breakout rooms over Zoom performing different tasks. Tori pulls quotes from the show that she'll post to Twitter and cuts reels that surface on Instagram or as YouTube shorts. She's also written articles that have been elevated to Kelly.

"My boss told me Megyn liked them. That was really cool. I was ecstatic about that."

Tori works closely with the show's executive producer, Steve Krakauer, a journalist who's worked for CNN, FOX News, NBC, and more. Steve set Tori up with a contact at Red Seat Ventures, a company that's in the business of building media brands. A job offer may come from it, potentially in podcast marketing (a newly discovered passion).

Tori wasn't particularly interested in politics before this internship and wasn't quite sure how she wanted to apply her communications degree after graduation. She saw an application for the internship on LinkedIn, applied, and now doors she didn't know existed are opening up in front of her.
