Computer Science, School of Science, Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

Lindsay Clark '21, a computer science major from Schenectady, was named Siena College Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Student of the Week. Clark worked with professor Megan Kelly, Ph.D., on the project titled, "Informal Summer Learning."

Student learning opportunities aren't limited to time in between the bells on school days. How do students best learn informally outside of school, and what entices students to engage in summer learning? Those questions focused Clark's research. She partnered with five students, and under the guidance of Dr. Megan Kelly and Dr. Michele McColgan, they surveyed teachers and students to investigate what draws students to their summer learning experiences as well as what engages and motivates them to continue.
