When Siena promises an Education for a Lifetime they are not just talking about the degree Saints leave with- it means so much more.

As a liberal arts college, Siena is a place where students leave with an unwavering confidence in what they have learned and experienced. Such a mindset exceeds the confines of the classroom and even the campus, as top tech CEOs and leaders nationwide have said that graduates from liberal arts schools have what they need— knowledge, vision, empathy, listening and creativity skills that come from studying a broad range of topics. What does this mean? Siena graduates go out into the world ready to make a great living and live a great life.

From the start of their time on campus, Saints take advantage of Siena’s Career Education and Professional Development Office (CEPD). CEPD is not simply a final stop for seniors, it is an integral part of the whole Siena educational experience. Each semester they sponsor events for students to prep for the road ahead—whether they are looking for help putting together a resume, getting an internship, interview experience or eventually, a career after graduation.

Leading up to each year’s Spring Career, Internship, and Graduate School Fair, CEPD works to prepare students to put their best foot forward when networking with professionals and potential future employers.

A staple event is the annual Dress for Success Fashion show— put together in partnership with Delta Sigma Pi, as well as the Albany chapter of  Dress for Success and Macy’s of Colonie. Dressed head to toe it today's latest business professional looks, students strut their stuff and participate in skits that resemble situations that can arise in the working world.

“It is one of my favorite professional events each year. I think it’s important that the knowledge expressed in the event is shared, not only to business students but to everyone on campus. It is extremely valuable to the Siena Community and it's a fun and unique way to share such professional concepts,” said Kristen O’Brien ’21.

As the spring semester kicks into high gear, so do our Saints. With the opportunity to meet with top companies in a variety of fields, our Saints—dressed for success—jump at the chance to attend the Spring Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair. The success of the event has a lasting effect, as Siena students participate in more than 400 internships every year at nearly 300 different organizations.

The success doesn’t stop there. With Saints all over the globe, Siena’s alumni network plays a key role in the professional lives of our graduates. Thirty percent of recent alumni say a Siena connection led to their first or current job—whether they are in Albany, or across the world. Saints are a part of a community that will be there for them long after graduation—Siena grads always have each others' backs.
