Summer construction and facilities upgrade projects are well underway on campus

Chief among them is Patricia Gioia Hall, the new campus welcome center for prospective students and their families, which is on schedule to be finished by late July (above). This project, which is currently more than 90 percent complete, includes a 7,000-square-foot addition to the east side of the former McGuire Hall, a new gathering/event space, extensive site work improvements, and a geo-thermal heat pump HVAC system.

In the coming weeks, interior work such as painting and flooring, and exterior site work such as sidewalk installation, landscaping and planting of grass and sod are scheduled to be done, as well as finishing touches on the open-air brick structure near the Grotto housing the Bells of Remembrance. The bells were gifted to the College in 2020 by the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Name Province and Siena’s Class of ’20.

Some other special touches still to be added: a ceramic tile mosaic of the Siena sunburst emblem will adorn the back exterior wall, and a large statue of St. Francis of Assisi will be stationed in front of the building to welcome campus guests.

Members of the College’s Enrollment Management and Marketing teams are looking forward to moving into Gioia Hall in August. An open house event is being planned for September. What else is underway? Below:

According to Mark Frost, assistant vice president for facilities management, other summer projects include:
