My teaching philosophy:

Creativity is work; Creativity is play. We truly become artists when these two aspects of creativity merge as an active, energetic, driving force. Students are potent with creative possibilities. As a teacher of the fine arts it is my responsibility to guide, nurture and protect their potential. I believe that the most effective learning comes from hands-on experience, especially in the visual arts. Art and creativity are linked with problem solving. Training the mind to analyze and solve problems; training the eye to see the objectives and ambitions of a particular project; and finally training the hand to realize the vision. This is the process I explore with my students.
