As Associate Director of the Siena College Counseling Center, Tom brings a wealth of experience gathered over more than a decade in the field. In various roles, from direct care to project management, administration to public policy and advocacy, Tom has promoted and prioritized mental wellness among young people. In addition to his work at Siena, Tom owns and operates Templeton Mental Health Counseling, PLLC in Latham.
Tom is a proud alumnus of Siena College, and received his BA in History in 2008. He attended graduate school at the College of Saint Rose, and received his M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2011. Areas of research and special interest include: peer-directed services, suicide prevention, and childhood trauma.
Tom feels privileged to have rejoined the Saints community, working alongside a dynamic Counseling Center team that is committed to improving mental wellness among students.
In his spare time, Tom is an elected member of the Board of Education at Shenendehowa Central School District, as well as a member of the Board of Directors at Playhouse Stage Company (formerly Park Playhouse). He enjoys acting in theatre productions, most recently at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany. In addition, he is a multi-instrumental musician and an embarrassingly inconsistent golfer.
