Dr. Laura Finnerty Paul is a highly accomplished academic and educational leader with a diverse background in management, academia, and community involvement. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Management from the Steven Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, where her research focused on the effects of perceived diversity and trust on information sharing in groups, with a particular emphasis on the moderating role of virtuality.

Her educational journey also includes a Master of Business Administration in Management Systems from Fordham University in New York, NY, where she studied abroad at Sacred Heart University in Luxembourg. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Economics from Fordham University and pursued additional studies in Options I, Options II, and Stock Brokerage Accounting at the NY Institute of Finance.

In her current role as Visiting Assistant Professor of Management at Siena College in Loudonville, NY, Dr. Finnerty Paul teaches courses in Introduction to Business and Introduction to Management. She played a pivotal role in developing the Introduction to Business course, a valuable addition to the Business School curriculum. In addition, Dr. Finnerty Paul serves on the Student-Designed Interdisciplinary Major (SDIM) committee.

Dr. Finnerty Paul's leadership skills were prominently displayed during her tenure as Dean of Academic Affairs at Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY, from 2018 to 2020. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of the academic curriculum, successfully navigated the transition to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, and implemented innovative initiatives like The Innovation Hub into the curriculum. Earlier in her career at Northwood School, Dr. Finnerty Paul was the Director of International Students.

 She has also contributed significantly to Skidmore College as a Faculty Member in the Department of Management & Business and while advising students, supervising interdependent studies, and serving on several committees including the Information Resources Council, and the Institutional Review Board.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Finnerty Paul has made noteworthy contributions to research, with publications on team conflict in virtual environments and presentations at conferences. She has been recognized with awards and grants, including the National Science Foundation Alliances for Graduate Education, and the Professoriate (AGEP) program summer stipend.

Outside of academia, Dr. Finnerty Paul is actively engaged in her community, serving as an Advisory Board member for the SUNY Empire Center for Autism Advocacy, an Adaptive Ski Instructor at Double H Ranch, and a volunteer in various organizations, including the Lake Placid International Youth Hockey tournament.

With a dynamic blend of academic expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to community service, Dr. Laura Finnerty Paul continues to make a significant impact in the fields of education and beyond.
