Visual Art & Design Experience

Cece White '25 majored in Visual Art and Design and was a member of the water polo team. She has interned with NASA's graphics program for several summers, designed an on-campus mural, assisted with a professor's painting commission, and designed for Siena's Beverage Institute.

Roommates, Friends and Fellow Theatre-Makers

Jack D. Ellis '24 majored in Theatre and is now an actor, director, and a company member of Will Kempe's Players, an actor-owned Shakespeare cooperative based in Troy, NY.

Simon Meisel '24 majored in Theatre. Since graduation Simon has been awarded fellowships with  Kennedy Center  and WildWind Performance Lab, received papal recognition for his play Red Glare, and is working with Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College. He also was a finalist for a Fulbright.

Using Science to Restore Art

Maura Van Woert '27 had an interest in restoration and curation when she came to Siena. Through the Summers Scholars program and with the help of painting and drawing Professor Scott Foster she has gotten to restore her first artwork.

The Next Step: Film Festival

Peter Burke '25 majored in Creative Arts. He wrote, directed and filmed the short film Mafioso for his final Capstone project. His film was accepted to the Peekskill Film Festival where it was awarded the Audience Favorite and was nominated for Best of Fest.

Building a Career in Digital Arts

Chelsea Palma '24 was a Visual Arts and Design major with a Multimedia Design Certificate. At Siena she completed an Internship with Siena's marketing department and oversaw weekend hours for our digital art labs. Post-graduation she completed a Masters of Art in Visual Communication Design. 

Summer Scholars

Abby Huffman '22 participated in a Summer Scholars paid research program. Alongside students in physics and computer science Abby collaborated to invent and design the game Quantum Party. After graduation Abby received a full scholarship to a Masters of Graphic Design program at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England. 

Collaboration in the Creative Arts

Evan Fawcett '24 was a Visual Arts and Design major who embraced the collaborative nature of our department. He utilized our theatre's costume shop to create his capstone project, a vest made from a vintage leather suitcase. Post-graduation Evan went to London to complete a masters in Arts Management. 

An Emerging Writer

Krista Rivers '25 double-majored in Theatre and Creative Arts. While at Siena she was a performer, designer, musician, song writer and playwright. Krista was invited to present her costume design work at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, as well as receiving several Irene Ryan Theatre Scholarship nominations.  Post-graduation she will continue with her writing by completing a Masters of Creative Writing at Emerson College. 

Supporting the Community

 The Theatre Certificate student, Michael Anderton-Stuart '22 was always drawn to directing at Siena College. After graduating, he received his MFA in Directing at Edinburgh Napier University. He returned to New York and was named Assistant Director of Arts Program at Living Resources. He is currently working to expand the arts program, including the incorporation of theatre in the future. 

Sharing the Theatre Experience

Dom DiCaprio '22 was a Theatre Certificate and is now an English teacher and Theatre director at a middle school in Northern Virginia. He is also currently pursuing his Master's degree in Theatre Education at the University of Northern Colorado, with the intention of bring his skills to his local theatre community and schools.
