The John J. Nigro H '13 Endowed Scholarship was established in 2016 by friends and family to honor Mr. Nigro's service and devotion to Siena College for nearly 25 years. Siena College recognized Mr. Nigro for such service and devotion in October 2016 at the inaugural Ring of Honor ceremony, celebrating philanthropists who have made transformational financial gifts to Siena College. The scholarship will be awarded to one incoming freshman student from the Capital Region who demonstrates financial need. The award is given for one year but may be renewed for up to three (3) additional undergraduate years providing the Office of Financial Aid determines that the recipient has maintained a grade point average of at least three and zero tenths (3.0) each year and demonstrates a commitment to the ideals of Franciscan service of caring for every person, seeking knowledge joined by love, building community, sharing generously, and helping others.
