Real Experience. Real Results.

In Siena's Chemistry program, you won’t be sitting on the sidelines. Expect to be in the lab, working with modern instrumentation and technology in our SAiNT Center, even as a first-year student. Imagine yourself alongside our 11 active research professors, conducting experiments that matter. You’ll gain more than skills—you'll have the experience employers are looking for and the confidence to show it.

Choose your path

Tailor your education to your career goals. Choose between three tracks:

  • Business Track: Combine chemistry with business principles to prepare for careers in pharmaceuticals, management, or entrepreneurship
  • Chemistry Track: Focus on advanced chemistry courses for careers in research, lab work, or further studies in graduate or medical school
  • Education Track: Prepare to become a certified chemistry teacher, sharing your passion for science with middle and high school students

Quick Facts:

  • Class Size: Fewer than 40 in introductory courses, fewer than 20 in advanced ones—ensuring you’re never just a number.

  • Faculty Mentorship: Get one-on-one guidance in labs attached to faculty offices. You'll have direct access to experts who care about your success.

  • Published Research: It’s common to publish your research alongside a faculty mentor and present at national conferences. This means you’re already building a resume that stands out.

Why Siena Chemistry Stands Out

Our alumni have gone on to study at top institutions like Yale, Johns Hopkins, Duke, and Michigan State. Employers and graduate schools see "Siena Chemistry" on your resume and know you’re prepared. Siena isn’t just another school offering chemistry. Here, we give you the best of both worlds:

  • Hands-On Learning: More instrument access and research opportunities than you’d find at most larger institutions.

  • Mentorship and Community: Our small classes mean your professors know your goals and help tailor your path to get you there.

Courses That Define Your Experience

We offer an American Chemical Society-certified curriculum, providing the rigorous, industry-recognized foundation you need. Every course is designed to connect theory with practice, ensuring you're ready for whatever comes next.

"I loved how much the professors in the chem/biochem department care about us as both students and people. I always felt comfortable asking for help and going to office hours, which enhanced my experience and understanding. The small labs and classes also added to the great community environment in which I really got to know my professors and peers." - Natalie Stagnitti ‘23, High School Chemistry Teacher
