Peer Career Advisors (PCA)

The Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) are team of selected students to assist peers with preliminary career exploration. PCAs offer Drop-Ins, review resume and cover letters, certify resumes, present resume and cover letter writing workshops to groups and many other services.

PCA Drop-Ins

Need to have a draft of your resume, cover letter, or your ePortfolio reviewed? Have basic questions about Handshake? Talk with a PCA during PCA Drop In hours throughout the Academic Year.  

PCA Drop Hours for Spring 2026: Monday-Friday 10a-2p in Foy Hall 203; Monday PMs: 5p-8p in Caseys

Additional Drop In opportunities are also available in other campus locations such as residence halls and at special times. Please be advised that this service is on a first come, first served basis. 

Resume Certification Policy

Every student's default resume uploaded into Handshake will be reviewed for certification by one of TMCIC Peer Career Advisors (PCAs). Resumes will be certified if they meet basic resume guidelines as outlined in the resume rubric of the Career Guide (starting on P.31). Resumes will not be certified if there are significant errors in formatting, content, and/or grammar. 

This review may take up to two (2) business days to complete, therefore, please plan accordingly. Also, if a resume is reviewed, it does NOT guarantee that it will be certified. If you're unsure whether your document will be certified or not, come in to see a PCA during Drop Ins.
