Siena College is honored to recognize the accomplishments of Lori Ehrensbeck, CPA as the recipient of the 2021-2022 award.

Lori Ehrensbeck has the massive charge to identify risks and threats to the College and develop and implement mitigation activities within areas responsible for risk management. The scope includes, but is hardly limited to, minors on campus, theater and laboratory safety, and international travel. Ms. Ehrensbeck also manages a campus-wide Compliance Committee which ensures responsible officers have the necessary support and resources to meet compliance requirements. Additionally, Ms. Ehrensbeck handles insurance policies for the College, which includes the laborious completion of annual renewal applications.

For the past two years, Ms. Ehrensbeck has also served as a vital member of the College’s Operations Team, the central committee advising the president and cabinet on all matters related to COVID. Ms. Ehrensbeck carries a separate and dedicated cell phone, the Ops Hotline, with her at all times and manages the committee’s designated email account. She fields dozens of questions and calls daily from community members with questions or concerns related to the pandemic. She submitted daily reports to the Department of Health and has spent endless hours researching and developing new College policies and procedures as new guidelines are established by the State’s Department of Health and the CDC. Ms. Ehrensbeck is never off-duty and her gentle approach and fastidious attention to detail have been critical to the College’s ability to successfully navigate the challenges presented by COVID.

As noted in Lori’s nomination letter, “Lori exemplifies our Franciscan tradition. She is an amazing administrator who works hard daily behind the scenes to ensure all goes well for each member of our community.”

Lori is a certified public accountant and 1980 graduate of Siena College.
