Br. Walter Liss taught in the Computer Science department at Siena and served as a Friar in Residence in Padua Hall. He currently serves as the Franciscan Formation Director at the Holy Name College in Silver Spring, MD. In his role as a Siena College trustee, Br. Walter participates on the Student Success and Institutional Identity, and Branding committees.

Prior to joining the Franciscans, Br. Walter worked in the information technology field and earned a Masters in Computers & Information Systems from Bentley College. Br. Walter studied theology at the Washington Theological Union. He has held a variety of ministry assignments including service to the poor, the elderly, those suffering from mental illness, and soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

His areas of interest include Jungian psychology and environmental issues. Br. Walter has a strong commitment to ensuring the value of a Siena education as a high priority for our students and society overall. Br. Walter names Catholic Charities as another area of deep importance to him. 

When Br. Walter is not serving or teaching, he loves to be physically active.
