Sharon earned her B.B.A. from Siena College and also holds an M.Ed. from the College of Saint Rose. She began her career in public accounting, working at several major firms in Albany, New Haven, Washington, and New York. After returning to Albany, Sharon became the AVP of Financial Reporting at Norstar Bancorp, and later served as CFO for multiple family businesses. Sharon attributes her professional success to the solid educational foundation she gained at Siena.

Sharon’s passion for education began with a volunteer teaching position at the Doane Stuart School, where she taught high school students an introductory business course. Sharon went on to serve in leadership roles at Doane Stuart, both as its Interim Head of School and as its board President.

Sharon and her family are deeply committed to supporting education and healthcare, which is reflected in her extensive board service — 17 years with Doane Stuart, 8 years with Saint Rose, and now 12 years and counting on the Board of the Albany Med Health System.

Sharon spends most of her time at her home in Westerlo, New York. She and her husband, Bill, have one son and one grandson. Outside of her volunteer work and spending time with her family, Sharon is an avid reader and enjoys baking.
